The retail industry and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) are jointly developing a Web tool that will provide access to retail-related environmental information, sustainability tools and regulation in a one-stop portal. EPA hopes to have the portal available on its main Web site sometime next year.
While the EPA’s Office of Compliance will manage the portal, the site was developed jointly by EPA’s Environmental Assistance Network and the Retail Industry Leaders Association.
The Web site will contain information on issues of importance to many retailers, such as environmental compliance, sustainability and pollution-prevention practices. It could also include information from other state and federal agencies and along with other organizations.
