RepairSmith Launches New On-Site Service

RepairSmith Launches New On-Site Service

The new on-site service brings repair and maintenance direct to fleets.

RepairSmith recently announced the launch of on-site fleet service with ASE-certified mechanics delivering diagnostics, repair, maintenance, tire service and state-regulated inspections (including BIT) direct to fleets.

“The rise of at-home services has increased the demand on fleets. To keep pace, it’s more important than ever to minimize vehicle downtime,” said Joel Milne, CEO of RepairSmith. “By bringing top-quality, convenient service direct to fleets, RepairSmith enables fleet managers to avoid service disruption, unnecessary expenses and the headaches of traditional fleet service.”

According to fleet industry expert Vehicle Service Pros, downtime costs a fleet an average of $488 to $760 per day, per vehicle, in addition to towing fees. It also causes added wear and tear on overused vehicles forced to compensate for those out of service.

Backed by Daimler AG, RepairSmith also offers car owners service at their home or office.

To deliver a five-star experience for fleet managers, all RepairSmith mechanics are employees of the company and drive custom-outfitted Mercedes-Benz Sprinter or Metris vehicles equipped with advanced tools and parts. The RepairSmith fleet also includes vehicles specifically equipped to service larger customer fleets. RepairSmith can complete over 85 percent of the work a fleet vehicle may need on-site. For more extensive repairs, such as an engine or transmission rebuild, RepairSmith will arrange for the work to be completed at a certified RepairSmith shop and return the vehicle to the fleet location, said the company.

“We built a service that combines customizable options for each fleet with dedicated, expert mechanics who go above and beyond to keep vehicles in service,” said Demetra Markopoulos, director of fleet service sales at RepairSmith. “Our own business at RepairSmith relies on a well-functioning fleet, so we’re in a unique position to understand – and meet, if not exceed – the needs of our fleet customers.”

RepairSmith recently completed pilot programs with nonprofit, corporate, rental, shuttle and government fleets throughout California. RepairSmith fleet service is now available in California, Las Vegas and Phoenix, with additional service locations launching this year.

“We have a fleet of 400 vehicles ranging from minivans to SUVs. To find RepairSmith, who can travel our locations, was a huge relief for me,” said Deshone Williams, fleet administrator of Airport Van Rental Van Pool, a RepairSmith fleet customer. “The quality of work is excellent. From the cleanliness of the worksite to the timeliness of completion, RepairSmith’s service is unmatched.”
