MIDLAND, Mich. Registration is open for five Summer 2010 courses available through the University of the Aftermarket’s convenient online “Distance Learning” program. Each course begins June 1, and the registration deadline is Friday, May 28.
Offered in a convenient, Web-based environment, University of the Aftermarket Distance Learning courses provide industry professionals the flexibility to learn when they can, but also offer personalized direction from faculty members. Each 8.5-week course is certified for 3.0 Continuing Education Units that can be applied toward the participant’s AAP (Automotive Aftermarket Professional) or MAAP (Master Automotive Aftermarket Professional) certificate. Prerequisites may apply.
Courses now available for registration are:
Applied Management (MGT 312) – Apply management principles and identify important components related to issues such as leadership, emotional intelligence, diversity, organizational structure, human resource management, empowerment and participatory management, training and development.
Strategic Planning (MGT 480) – Explore managerial decisions and actions that bear directly on the total business enterprise. Focus is the organization as a whole — the environment in which it operates, the direction in which it is headed, how it plans to get there, and the whole scope of its internal activities.
Principles of Selling (MKT 201) – Examine the sales personality, organization and procedure and psychology of the sales talk; includes study of sales in the enterprise economy.
E-Commerce and Value Chain Integration (MKT 450) – The role of marketing in enterprise, including concepts, problems and strategies. Case method approach is used to develop the concepts and techniques in the market.
The Culture of Leadership (SOC 345) – Study of governance in an organization, understanding and practicing leadership concepts, and applying newly learned skills in leading and negotiating.
