ORLAND PARK, IL — Organizers of the Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo (AAPEX) recommend exhibitors start planning now to secure their space for the 2005 show. A record number of exhibitors — more than 1,900 — occupied more than 1.2 million square feet of exhibit space in the Sands Expo Center at AAPEX 2004. Part of Automotive Aftermarket Industry Week, AAPEX also shattered attendance records for the second consecutive year in 2004.

AAPEX Show Manager Bill Glasgow Sr. said it’s not too early to start planning to exhibit at the 2005 event, which will take place Tuesday, Nov. 1, through Friday, Nov. 4. With the 2004 show reaching “sold-out” status, Glasgow suggests companies that plan to exhibit in 2005 take action now to ensure their spot at the annual event.

Companies interested in exhibiting at AAPEX 2005 can register for the online space drawing. The deadline to participate in the online space selection process is Friday, Jan. 14. The registration form and more information are available at the AAPEX Web site, www.aapexshow.com.

As of Tuesday, March 1, 2005, qualified companies participating in the 2005 online space drawing will receive their scheduled booth selection dates and times for the drawing. The online space drawing is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. (EST) on Monday, March 7, 2005.

During the space drawing, a floor plan will be posted on the show Web site and will be updated during the drawing to indicate the current available and reserved booth space. Companies are encouraged to view the updated floor plan and witness the booth selection process prior to their selected time to help make their selection process easier.

At a company’s assigned time, show management will contact the designated company representative via telephone for their booth selection. Each company will have five minutes to select a booth. After five minutes, the computer will automatically go to the next company to select. If a selection has not been made within the five minutes, the company will have missed its opportunity to choose a booth location and will be assigned the best-available space by show management.
