Redline Detection To Display Scorpion EV Cobra At SEMA Show

The Scorpion 600 is the first production model from Scorpion EV, designed and built in California.

Redline Detection, diagnostic leak detection technology provider for vehicles from ICE to EV, will display a limited-production, fully electric Scorpion 600 at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, Nevada on Nov. 1 – 4.

The Scorpion 600 is the first production model from Scorpion EV, designed and built in California. It’s a 600-horsepower sports car that combines the beauty of a classic AC Cobra and a fully electric powertrain, with a range of 400 miles.

“We’re not trying to replace the original format of this vehicle,” said Bill Cardoso, Scorpion EV CEO. “What we’re trying to do is show what the next generation of this platform looks like…and the next generation of speed and performance is an electric motor.”

With the swift adoption of electric and hybrid vehicles, Redline Detection’s Battery + Coolant Leak Detector tests the integrity of battery enclosures, battery coolant systems, and other EV system components to ensure there is no intrusion of water, dust, or other contaminants that can cause catastrophic failure, the company says.

Redline Detection adds that its BCLD is now mandated an essential tool by the world’s leading EV automakers in 160 countries, saving warranty costs, speeding EV battery repair turnaround, and ensuring that battery electric systems are sealed for the safety of the vehicle and the driver.

For more information, visit the Redline Detection SEMA booth, #38115 in Upper South Hall, the SEMA Electrified exhibit and the SEMA Featured Products Showcase.

Do you speak spark plug? Most part numbers are a meaningless series of numbers and letters. But spark plugs have a language on the side of the box that can tell you what’s inside. Like any other language, there are dialects.

The nomenclature of spark plug part numbers can tell you everything from size (diameter and reach) to what materials are on the center and ground electrode. Like learning a new language, knowing how to translate spark plug numbers can open up a new way to inventory and sell spark plugs for counter professionals.
