Raybestos to Launch New Marketing Programs in 2005

Brake Parts Inc. has planned a year full of new marketing programs for 2005 for its Raybestos brand brake line. Plans include a variety of new promotions designed for professional installers, a continued commitment to motorsports and participation in the new Aftermarket Rewards program.

MCHENRY, IL — Brake Parts Inc. has planned a year full of new marketing programs for 2005 for its Raybestos brand brake line. Plans include a variety of new promotions designed for professional installers, a continued commitment to motorsports and participation in the new Aftermarket Rewards program.

The company has updated its most popular promotion — the Raybestos brand brakes Brake and Safety Center — to include new and useful tools for today’s service dealer, including point-of-sale materials, premium parts and other merchandise. Each package also includes one membership to www.raybestos.com for tech bulletins, on-line training and important industry information. In addition, members will receive a Web page on the Raybestos dealer locator and gain access to useful customer management tools.

Raybestos has a wide variety of great quarterly promotions lined up for 2005. The first quarter promotion will highlight its loaded caliper and friction ready caliper lines. Its “Spring Brake” promotion for WDs will begin in January. This program gives WDs the opportunity to gain points for their purchases and the chance to redeem these points for great premiums used to run the “Official Spring Brake of Raybestos” service dealer promotion or one of their own. “Spring Brake” continues in April and WDs will continue to collect points and redeem for great premiums such as Raybestos brand and NASCAR apparel.

The “Official Spring Brake of Raybestos” service dealer promotion and sweepstakes begins in the second quarter, while a “Blockbuster” promotion and sweepstakes starts in the third quarter. This promotion includes a kit featuring Raybestos brand premium product and a $50 gift certificate to Blockbuster. The Raybestos brand NASCAR Rookie of the Year Carhartt Jacket promotion and sweepstakes rounds out the fourth quarter.

New in 2005 is Brake Parts’ involvement in a new loyalty program called Aftermarket Rewards. The Aftermarket Rewards program is a coalition of aftermarket manufacturers wanting to reward professional service technicians for their continued loyalty in purchasing their products. Raybestos premium parts will be included in this exciting new program.

Finally in 2005, Brake Parts Inc. will continue its long-standing involvement with motorsports to further build brand recognition and loyalty for its Raybestos brand brakes. One of the highlights of the 2005 racing season is the associate sponsorship of the Robert Yates Racing #38 Ford M&M’s Candies Car, driven by Elliott Sadler. Raybestos will continue to offer contingency awards in all three major series; the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series, the NASCAR Busch Grand National Series and the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. It will also continue its rookie program by sponsoring the Rookie-of-the-Year award in NASCAR’s three major series. Raybestos has committed to the contingency awards and the Rookie-of-the-Year award through 2010.

The 2005 racing season marks the 49th year that Raybestos brand has sponsored the “Safety in Speed” award at the Indianapolis 500. The award is presented to the winner of the race and the car owner in recognition of engineering and performance innovation, which contributes to advances in automotive safety.
