CAWA Chairman Greg Livingston of All Trade Tools, has appointed Ray Pohlman of AutoZone, to the association’s board of directors. When Livingston announced the appointment, he said, “AutoZone has been a longtime member and Mr. Pohlman had previously served on the board of directors and we are pleased to welcome him back as their representative to our association’s leadership.”
Pohlman joined AutoZone in 1995 as the company’s director of government relations. He was promoted to vice president in March 2005 and now manages the Memphis-based company’s government relations, community relations, communications and media relations efforts. Prior to joining AutoZone, he managed political campaigns, including Tennessee Governor Don Sundquist’s election in 1994. Prior to that, he served as director of communications for Memphis Mayor Dick Hackett. Before entering public service and politics, Pohlman spent 16 years as a broadcast journalist with the Memphis CBS affiliate, WREG-TV, where he served as news anchor, assignments editor, executive producer and news director. He also serves on many auto care industry national committees and is the chief executive of the Coalition for Auto Repair Equality (CARE).
