Quadratec Names Category Management Director, Announces Digital Marketing Promotion

Quadratec Announces 2 New Appointments

Sean McComsey was promoted to director of digital marketing, and Phil Rees was named director of category management.

Quadratec, Inc., independent retailer and wholesaler of parts and accessories for Jeep vehicles, announced the promotion of Sean McComsey to director of digital marketing, and the addition of Phil Rees as director of category management.

“We are thrilled to have Sean and Phil bring their wealth of experience to our high caliber leadership team,” said Quadratec CEO Ted Wentz. “We continue to invest heavily in building a top-tier management staff that will help drive us through the most exciting time in our company’s history.”

With over 11 years of marketing experience, McComsey’s “up, down, and across the organization” management style has played a major role in helping transform Quadratec from a catalog retailer to the leader in online Jeep parts and accessories, says the company. His efforts have helped grow the company’s social media presence substantially, to more than 450,000 Facebook likes, 117,000 YouTube subscribers and over 100,000 Instagram followers.

McComsey was named to the Specialty Equipment Market Association’s “Top 35 Under 35” list earlier this year; an honor that recognizes and highlights up-and-coming superstars in the automotive aftermarket industry who are age 35 and younger.

“Sean has played a key role in building a world class digital marketing department and team that leverages analytics and technology across all channels, contributing not only to the growth of his department, but the success and growth of the company,” said Quadratec CMO Ralph Mondeaux.

McComsey will lead Quadratec’s digital marketing team and help to continue to pivot its digital strategy to increase sales, reach new customers and expand direct-to-customer sales.

Rees brings more than 38 years of automotive experience in the areas of product purchasing, sourcing, category management and private label development — most recently serving as Head of Private Label for AutoAnything.

He will be responsible for creating and executing a dynamic strategy for product categories to maximize sales and profitability, while helping coordinate the company’s marketing, pricing and vendor relationships across print, digital and event marketing platforms, Quadratec says.

Rees spent six years as the director of private label for JEGS, leading its global sourcing and brand direction. Prior to JEGS, he served for 19 years in various merchandising and category management roles including director of merchandising at AutoZone, as well as product director at Advanced Auto Parts.

“We are delighted to have Phil join the Quadratec family,” said Quadratec President and COO John Stewart. “His vast experience and knowledge in the automotive purchasing and category management space will help ensure we continue to offer the best possible product assortment at the best pricing for our customers.”
