FULLTERTON, CA — Yokohama Rubber Co., the parent company of Yokohama Tire Corp, announced that, pending final approval of a general shareholders meeting, Koji Ikawa will resign from his position as managing director of Yokohama Rubber Co. and as president and CEO of Yokohama Tire Corp, effective June 29. Ikawa will remain chairman of Yokohama Tire Corp.
Ikawa has worked for Yokohama Rubber Co. for 40 years. Prior to joining Yokohama Tire Corp., Ikawa was managing director and general manager of the Tire Production Division of the Yokohama Rubber Co. in Japan. He also helped establish Yokohama’s U.S. presence in 1969, the tire manufacturer said.
Norio Karashima will be promoted to the newly created position of corporate officer of Yokohama Rubber Co. and president of Yokohama Tire Corp., succeeding Ikawa. Karashima joined Yokohama Rubber Co. in 1976 and most recently served as general manager of the OE Tire Planning Department.
