ROME, GA and FULLERTON, CA — Pirelli Tire North America has announced that it is increasing prices on all of its passenger and light truck/SUV tires by between 3 and 5 percent. The Rome, Ga.-based tiremaker said the increase will take effect this December, and was due to escalating raw material costs. Earlier this week, Pirelli SpA announced a global 3 to 5 percent price increase on all types, sizes and brands of tires the company makes around the world.
Effective Dec. 31, Yokohama Tire Corp. is increasing prices across the board on its consumer, commercial and OTR equipment tires. Prices on passenger and light truck/SUV tires will increase 3 to 4 percent, while commercial lines, including commercial light truck and medium truck tires as well as OTR tire lines, will increase by 3 to 5 percent. Additional in-line adjustments will also be made, said the company. Yokohama also cited rising business costs, particularly rising raw material costs.
