CHANTILLY, VA — The Production Engine Remanufacturers Association (PERA) is unveiling a new online information service for the custom, production or do-it-yourself engine remanufacturer or rebuilder. The new service — www.EngineDataSource.com — is now being launched in a beta-release, with the official launch taking place on October 1.
Currently, the Web site contains casting numbers and pictures to help identify major components as well as the differences between similar components. The site also features a component bill of materials (BOM) based upon an industry-recognized common numbering system, as well as a full BOM for all aftermarket parts that are available through participating suppliers, including Dana-Clevite, Elgin Industries, Federal Mogul, Fel-Pro, Perfect Circle, Sealed Power, Victor Reinz and US Tool. All information is mapped to the AAIA Standard.
Access to OE Bulletins and Specification information such as clearances, critical dimensions and torque sequence diagrams, will be added to the site in the future.
SourcePERA users are invited to participate in the beta process. If you are a SourcePERA user and have not already received a login and password, email [email protected] to receive access.
