PERA Announces Schedule for 2004 Marketing and Technical Program

The Production Engine Remanufacturers Association (PERA) has announced the schedule for its 2004 Marketing and Technical Program, which is slated to take place April 1-3 at the Seelbach Hilton Hotel, in Louisville, Ky.

CHANTILLY, VA — The Production Engine Remanufacturers Association (PERA) has announced the schedule for its 2004 Marketing and Technical Program, which is slated to take place April 1-3 at the Seelbach Hilton Hotel, in Louisville, Ky.

The program begins with the PERA Board of Directors Meeting from 3 to 5 p.m. on Thursday, April 1. Following the meeting, registration takes place from 4 to 7 p.m., with a cash bar reception in the hotel’s lobby, from 5 to 8 p.m.

On Friday, registration starts up again from 8 to 10 a.m., followed by the PERA full breakfast from 8 to 9 a.m. Opening remarks and introductions begin at 9 a.m. Highlights of the day’s events include a tour of the Jasper Engines and Transmissions plant in Jasper, Ind., as well as a tour of the Crawford County plant in Leavenworth, Ind.

Marketing and technical sessions taking place on Saturday, April 3, include:
8:00-8:30 a.m. “Installer Perceptions of Their Reman Engine Business”, Dave Wooldridge, Babcox
8:30-9:00 a.m. “Marketing Used Engines”, Laurie Garcia, LKQ
8:30-9:30 a.m. “Gasket Failures and Problems”
9:00-9:30 a.m. “Instant Financing of Reman Engines”, Paul Pawlusiak, Dell Financial
10:00- 10:30 a.m. “SourcePERA Update”, Roy Berndt
10:30-11:00 a.m. “New Engines and Common Traits/Failures/Changes”, Roy Berndt
11:00-11:30 a.m. “Crank Finishes”, Ken Barton, QPAC
11:30-Noon “Machining Pin Bushings”, Shai Dhanani

The deadline to register is March 25. Cancellations will be accepted through March 24. Registration fees include all food functions, meetings and plant tour. Member price: First 2 people $300 each; 2-4 people $280 each; any additional people $260 each. Non-member price: add extra $200 per person to above fees.
