PERA 59th Annual Convention to be Held in Newport Beach, California

The 59th Annual Production Engine Remanufacturers Association’s (PERA) Convention will take place Sept. 29 - Oct. 2, at The Sutton Place Hotel in Newport Beach, Calif. On Oct. 1, Kathleen Schmatz, president of AAIA, will present the Keynote Address, and will discuss “The Current State of the Automotive Aftermarket.”

CHANTILLY, VA — The 59th Annual Production Engine Remanufacturers Association’s (PERA) Convention will take place Sept. 29 – Oct. 2, at The Sutton Place Hotel in Newport Beach, Calif.

On Oct. 1, Kathleen Schmatz, president of AAIA, will present the Keynote Address, and will discuss “The Current State of the Automotive Aftermarket.” Following Schmatz’s address will be Tony Zinge on “Multi-Generational Prosperity” and Casey McCann on “Effective Corporate Cash Management.” Both Zinge and McCann are with the Wealth Transfer Department of Wells Fargo in San Francisco, California.

The program will continue on Oct. 2 with an update on the Engine Repower Council with Chuck Barnett and Tom Schrader. Nick Porrini of Techologue will discuss “Taking the Mystery Out of Industry Standards.” Following Porrini’s presentation will be the official launch of www.EngineDataSource.com with Roy Berndt and Mark Kothe.

Other presentations during the convention will include:

* Alan Josse of Performance Racing Institute on “The Performance Market: What’s In It for Engine Remanufactures”

* Dan Belling of VEGE/ATK North America will cover “Warranties and the Cost to Administer Them”

* Gerry Cecil of Universal Underwriters Group will discuss “How to Effectively Meet Your Insurance Needs”

* Paul Pawlusiak of Charter Warranty will close the mornings program with “More Money, More Money: Financing the Purchase of Remanufactured Engines”

Preceding the convention will be a Golf Tournament at the Tustin Ranch Golf Club in nearby Tustin, Calif.
