Pep Boys To Launch All-New Automotive Retail Experience

The automotive service and retail chain says this new approach will "redefine" the customer experience with auto service and repair.

PHILADELPHIA – Pep Boys is introducing an all-new customer experience for 2013 with the construction of a completely redesigned Tampa, Fla. retail store.
 
An enhanced customer lounge for customers waiting on vehicle repairs and service will feature aesthetics and amenities on par with many high-end dealerships, including free high-speed Wi-Fi access.According to Pep Boys, the redesign reflects the company’s latest efforts to make auto repair more accessible and engaging for consumers. The new experience begins with enhanced customer service from store associates with a more customer-centric approach. From there, associates will focus on alleviating the stress and confusion that often shrouds auto service and repair by offering clear, easy-to-understand explanations of parts and repairs, Pep Boys stated.
 
The store’s new exterior offers a softer, more distinctive appearance, with stone masonry and hardwood accents adorning the building and signage.The redesigned retail store also will feature a multitude of new design elements and strategies both inside and out. According to Pep Boys, this arrangement enables customers to comfortably move about the store, as well as quickly locate any number products – from motor oil to iPad accessories. Further improvements to the store’s interior include an enhanced customer lounge for customers waiting on vehicle repairs and service. The new lounge will feature aesthetics and amenities on par with many high-end dealerships, including free high-speed Wi-Fi access.
 
“The new store represents our increased commitment to providing our customers with the best experience,” said Mike Odell, Pep Boys president and CEO. “Not only will this new approach allow us to better serve our customers, it will also help reshape how people think and feel about auto repair – eliminating the anxiety often associated with car repair.”
 
Further details on the redesigned Tampa, Fla., Pep Boys retail store, as well as the site’s grand opening will be released in the coming weeks.
