Parts Authority with Many Locations Acquires Assets Of Johnson Industries

ATLANTA, Ga. – Parts Authority Inc., a Pronto member, announced it has completed the asset purchase of Johnson Industries Atlanta operation. Johnson Industries Atlanta has a large 130,000-square-foot warehouse and seven additional satellite warehouses in the Atlanta area.

Parts Authority CEO Randy Buller said he is thrilled with the acquisition. “Although we have been expanding at a rapid pace when this opportunity became available, it was apparent Johnson had all the elements we were looking for with its great people, large remote warehouses, major metropolitan area and an opportunity for synergy and growth.”

When asked what specific synergies he is referring to, Buller added, “Johnson Industries has an extremely long and strong history selling car dealerships and fleet accounts. Parts authority is extremely strong at selling installers and national accounts, but will also benefit from the fleet and dealer expertise of Johnson Industries.

“We are also pleased to have retained the entire Johnson Industries team; including Randy Kulamer and Chris Bolden, who will be the Parts Authority team leaders in Atlanta. I am convinced that if we stay true to our core philosophy of treating customers, team members, and vendors with respect, this acquisition will be a perfect fit for Parts Authority and Johnson Industries.”

Parts Authority is a New York based company established in 1972 with locations in New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Washington, D.C, Arizona and now Georgia.

Federated Auto Parts Distributors announced it is entering into a collaboration with the Association of Independent Oil Distributors (AIOD) – one it said will focus on mutual benefits for the respective members.

“Federated is constantly looking at ways to improve value for all constituents and this agreement provides that,” said Sue Godschalk, president of Federated. “This collaboration provides added volume and opportunities for our suppliers, new partners for our members, and added supply points and products for shop customers. We have enjoyed working closely with several AIOD members in the past and this agreement will expand and create further opportunities for both Federated and AIOD.”
