Panasonic Acquires Majority Stake In Ficosa

Reuters reported that Panasonic will acquire an additional 20 percent of Ficosa, raising its stake to 69 percent.

Reuters has reported that Japan’s Panasonic Corp. will become majority owner of Spanish auto parts maker Ficosa International SA. According to the Reuters article, this is Panasonic’s latest move to increase its presence in the automotive sector.

It’s been reported that Panasonic will acquire an additional 20 percent of Ficosa, raising its stake to 69 percent. Ficosa is a supplier of electronic automotive mirrors and advanced safety systems.

Seven months ago, Panasonic acquired all of the outstanding shares of the German software company OpenSynergy GmbH, a high-tech company specializing in embedded automotive software for cockpit solutions.
