Haldex Sells its Disc Brake Friction Material Business

Haldex has signed an agreement to divest its disc brake friction material business, as a final step in the restructuring of Friction Products, a business unit within Haldex’s Commercial Vehicle Systems (CVS) division. As a final step of the restructuring, Haldex has entered into an agreement to sell the disc brake friction material business to a Brazilian company, Fras-Le S.A. through its North American subsidiary, Fras-Le North America, Inc.

Haldex Commercial Vehicle Systems Announces Executive Changes

Charles Kleinhagen has left his position as executive vice president and head of Haldex Commercial Vehicle Systems Division. Kleinhagen has been reassigned to work on special projects, reporting to Chief Executive Officer Joakim Olsson. SKF and Haldex Group have announced plans to jointly develop an advanced wheel end system for commercial vehicles, trucks, buses and trailers. The system will be based on Haldex’s new generation of disc brakes with a fixed caliper dual disc concept and SKF truck hub, bearing and sealing technology.

Haldex to Supply Compressors

Haldex, a manufacturer and distributor of heavy-duty air brake system and suspension control system components, has signed a contract to supply air compressors to a major global engine manufacturer for its North American production. The company’s Air Management Division, a part of its Commercial Vehicle Systems business, will deliver the new air compressors beginning in late 2005. The contract is estimated to have a $75 million value over the life of the contract.
