Diesel Fuel Costs Continue to Stress Truck Fleets
According to new statistics from the American Trucking Association (ATA), truck fleets doled out some $62 billion for diesel fuel in 2004 – $10 billion more than in 2003, thanks to constantly rising oil prices. ATA said the annualized cost was based on national pump price averages that were 20 percent higher in 2004 vs. 2003 and total diesel consumption that was at least on par with 2003 pump sales.
