Activant and eBay Motors to Jointly Develop New eCat

Activant Solutions and eBay Motors will collaborate in developing a new electronic catalog that aims to revolutionize the way in which customers purchase replacement parts online. eBay Motors will utilize Activant’s set of replacement parts data – including Activant Cover-to-Cover graphical eCatalog content – to power its new part finder catalog. Scheduled to launch in 2009, the new catalog will be designed to accelerate the process of searching the millions of replacement parts listed on eBay Motors. In addition to its role in providing data to help enhance the eBay Motors buying experience, Activant offers a solution that assists automotive parts distributors, jobbers and other volume sellers in leveraging eBay Motors to sell slow-moving, obsolete, hard-to-find and specialty parts.

Midas Reports Second Quarter Results; Begins Co-Branding of Midas Services at SpeeDee Shops

Midas has reported net earnings of $2.2 million, or 16 cents per diluted share, for the second quarter ended June 28, compared to $3 million, or 21 cents per diluted share, in 2007. The 2008 results include 3 cents per share of special items relating to business transformation activities and losses on sales of assets, while the 2007 number includes 4 cents per share of special items.
