He worked for Echlin and Dana Corporation for 20 years at the Brake Parts Inc. division where he served as president for 13 years, building the business to one of the largest manufacturers in the industry. After retiring from Dana, he worked with ARI and as a consultant for Global Parts Solutions. Pavey has been an active industry participant, serving on the Board of Directors for ASIA , APAA, AAIA, ASE, MEMA and the Manufacturers Advisory Council for AWDA. Founding Federated Member Fisher Auto Parts Merges with Hayden’s Auto Supply

Fisher Auto Parts, the founding member of Federated Auto Parts, has merged with Hayden’s Auto Supply; it was announced today by Charlie Hayden, president of Hayden’s Auto Supply, Inc. and Bo Fisher, CEO of Fisher Auto Parts. Herman Trend Alert: Sharing Language Resources in a Flat World

One interesting development of our increasingly flat world (thank you, Thomas Friedman) is the global expansion of business. We learned long ago the value of using the local language when speaking or training in a foreign country. Even the attempt to speak the local language (except perhaps in France) establishes an audience connection which, particularly for a speaker, is very valuable. When we visited Malaysia recently to speak for ETELS [Training Networks], we learned some Malay, the language of Malaysia, and used it in our workshop. While not everyone is a polyglot, anyone visiting a foreign country will benefit from learning the language before departing. Until now, your choices for learning were Rosetta Stone or other digitally-based programs or finding a local tutor. Now, there is an alternative, and the best part is — it’s free.
