OPTIMA Batteries Returns to Annual King of the Hammers

OPTIMA Batteries will be the presenting sponsor for the 10-day event and sponsor multiple drivers.

OPTIMA Batteries, a leading brand of Clarios, has announced its official presenting sponsorship of the 2022 Progressive King of the Hammers. OPTIMA Batteries has been a continued sponsor of the event since 2016.

Regarded as the toughest single-day off-road race in the world it has evolved into a week-long festival of the most technical and extreme off-road racing. OPTIMA Batteries also sponsors multiple drivers competing in the race, including two-time King of the Hammers, champions Loren Healy, and Erik Miller, as well as Vaughn Gittin Jr. and Jason Blanton in the Unlimited 4400 class. Additionally, Christopher Polvoorde is racing his OPTIMA Batteries-sponsored Spec Trophy Truck in the Toyo Tires Desert Challenge.

“King of the Hammers is such a unique race and a true torture test of all vehicle components,” said OPTIMA Batteries director of marketing Cam Douglass. “We’ve been very involved over the last six years, and we are excited to come back in 2022 to be a big part of the toughest one-day off-road race on the planet.”

OPTIMA batteries are constructed of high-quality materials, including 99.99% pure lead. Paired with the application of a sealed Absorbent Glass Matt (AGM) construction, OPTIMA batteries are virtually spill-proof as well as shock and vibration resistant.

The 2022 Progressive King Of the Hammers takes place in Johnson Valley, Calif., and the racecourse incorporates all off-road disciplines, including highly technical rock crawling and high-speed desert sections. Qualifying events and other classes run from Jan. 29, 2022, to Feb. 4, 2022. The 16th Annual Progressive King Of The Hammers Powered By OPTIMA Batteries Ultra4 Class runs from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm on Saturday, Feb. 5, 2022.
