Obituary: Remembering Anthony Williams of Advance Auto Parts

Williams, Advance's CTI curriculum designer and LMS administrator, passed away unexpectedly on May 3.

Advance Auto Parts shared that Anthony Williams, the company’s CTI Curriculum Designer and LMS Administrator, passed away unexpectedly on May 3. He was 37 years old.

His colleagues at Advance shared: “Anthony was an amazing husband and father to his three young children. He was respected, admired and loved by all who met him and his loss has deeply saddened us all.

“Anthony was a special person who brought a wealth of knowledge and experience to our team. Prior to his time with Advance, Anthony founded the Automotive Institute of Science and Technology and served as the Automotive Program Director at the Career Building. Anthony was also an active part of several automotive organizations including NASTF, AMRA/MAP, TechForce and YANG. In addition to his automotive experience, he cared for his community by mentoring at-risk youth by helping them develop automotive skills as they worked to earn their high school diplomas.

“Anthony was like a brother to so many of us and we will not forget the lessons we learned by working with him. His passion for our industry and infectious and positive spirit will remain with each of us – driving us to continuously improve our training for our students and our industry overall.

“To honor Anthony’s nature of service and education, there are plans in motion to create scholarships in his name so his passion for learning and introducing students to the automotive industry can live on in his memory.”

Susan Trevaskis, director, eServices Strategy for Advance Auto Parts, shared that the company plans to establish scholarships in Williams’ name as well.
