PAMPLONA, SPAIN — NUCAP Industries of Toronto, Canada, has acquired a major interest in ADI Metalparts S.A., a Pamplona, Spain-based manufacturer of disc brake backing plates and accessories.

The soon-to-be-renamed company will direct NUCAP’s operational and sales activities in Europe and the Mediterranean Basin. Eduardo Unzu will serve as general manager of the new business.

Commenting on the acquisition, Juan Miguel Sucunza, chief executive officer of Berkelium S.L. and NUCAP Europe, said: "A joint venture with a global leader like NUCAP will take this existing company and move it forward into a leadership position in the category, presenting the widest product portfolio and the most efficient and innovative solutions in the market. "We look forward to providing Europe with the benefits of our technical innovations,” said Ray Arbesman, chairman of NUCAP Industries and NUCAP Europe. Our patented NRS Mechanical Attachment technologies, our developing NU-LOK NVH Abatement Shim product line, as well as our Drum Brake expertise and full line of hardware will be great additions to ADI’s line of quality European Disc Brake Backing Plates.”
