The spring meeting was primarily focused and structured as one-on-one sessions between shareholders and suppliers, whereby the supplier hosted a possibility of 17 sessions over a two-day period. All together, more than 1,000 individual meetings took place.

Other highlights of the meeting included honoring Tim Renehan as Pronto’s past chairman of the board for the year 2008 with a past chairman plaque. Renehan, president of Stone Wheel Inc. located in Willowbrook, Ill., still serves on the Pronto Board of Directors and has served for many years. Pronto announced Renehan’s successor, Yaron Rosenthal, owner of Parts Authority Inc., located in New York, as the chairman of the board for the year 2009.

On Friday, May 1, the shareholders were introduced to guest speaker Charlie Fewell of Charlie Fewell & Associates. Fewell spoke about the importance of training and motivating everyone within the supply chain, with major emphasis on counter sales, inside and outside sales people and the service center owner. Additionally, Fewell spoke about transforming the warehouse distributor’s sales force into great communicators, allowing them to build solid relationships with customers.

The group’s next meeting will be this fall, on September 23 – 25th in San Antonio, Texas.
