On May 10, President Obama announced the nomination of Blair Anderson to be under secretary for Policy, Department of Transportation (DOT). Anderson, who has served as the Deputy Administrator for the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration since 2015, is speaking at the MEMA Legislative Summit being held today, May 17.
Previously, Anderson was the deputy assistant secretary for Finance and Budget at DOT from 2013 to 2015. During that time period, he also served as acting chief financial officer and assistant secretary for Budget and Finance from April 2015 to August 2015. Anderson began his DOT career as the senior adviser for Budget and Programs from April 2013 to October 2013. Prior to his time at DOT, Anderson worked for Rep. John Olver (Mass.) as senior adviser from 2009 to 2013, and as legislative director from 2007 to 2009.
Anderson received a Bachelor of Arts from Princeton University.
