NEXUS Team A Winner At Tour Auto Optic 2000 Classic Car Event

The car won the “regularity-scratch” category of the event.

Following success in last year’s Tour Auto Optic 2000 classic car race in France, NEXUS and its trusted team of manufacturers achieved another quality win in the 2021 event.

Although the beautifully restored Lancia Fulvia No. 2 driven by NEXUS CEO Gael Escribe and Bodywork BRS Managing Director Victor Fernandez had to be retired due to a mystery mechanical issue, the crew continued the tour supporting Marc Jay and his son, Thomas, who drove a 1972 Lancia Fulvia 1600 HF No 94.

The car won the “regularity-scratch” category of the event, proving once again the high quality of the parts and work from NEXUS and its partners.

This year’s parade took place between the Aug. 31 and Sept. 5, with the impressive cavalcade of historic vehicles again journeying from Paris to Nice.

With support of the Motul Corazon foundation, the event provided a fantastic opportunity for talented young people working in the aftermarket to experience and completely connect with the classic car world, having been given the task of completely restoring the Lancia Fulvia No 2 with premium spare parts.

The young talents were offered the chance to work on the car and get inside the OE business, thanks also to the support of the sponsors: Bosch, Bakelite, Borg & Beck, Bosal, Calorstat, Clas, Mecafilter, Motul, Mintex, Osram and SKF.

Gael Escribe said, “We learned from our first participation in the Tour Auto that skills, experience and competency are fundamental to success, together with a strong passion for the classic car world.

“We were thrilled with the high quality of the renovation work done on the cars and are even further convinced this market segment is a growth area within the aftermarket, with the emergence of new opportunities.

“We have an even more ambitious program for 2022, expanding our team to explore different races to offer the best opportunities to our spare parts manufacturer partners and young talents to experience the classic car environment and discover new ways to make business in an historic but very fashionable world.”
