Tracerline is releasing a new line of fluorescent leak detection products made specifically for R-1234yf A/C systems. Automotive manufacturers are expected to completely shift all new automotive A/C units to R-1234yf by the year 2020. R-1234yf refrigerant has a much lower Global Warming Potential (GWP) rating than its predecessor, R-134a. New EPA and SAE compliance standards require all newly manufactured cars and trucks to adopt highly efficient, ultra-low impact R-1234yf refrigerant systems.

To meet industry trends, Tracerline has developed leak detection products made specifically for R-1234yf A/C systems. The product line includes complete leak detection kits, dye injection kits and replacement dyes. Tracerline R-1234yf leak detection dyes are manufactured using OEM-grade lubricant.

Tracerline dyes are co-solvent free and can be safely added to the system. They won’t affect the system’s lubricant properties or change how the equipment works, the company noted. Tracerline dyes can find the smallest and most problematic leaks that would otherwise be impossible to detect, according to the company.
