WILMINGTON, Del. DuPont has announced it is extending its brand to include a new line of aftermarket wiper blades. The wiper blade line is being produced in a licensing agreement with wiper industry experts, Pylon Manufacturing Corp. The new DuPont Wiper Blades include traditional frame and advanced frameless designs that are making their to-the-trade debut this week at the Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo in Las Vegas.
Designed to appeal to both the veteran and novice do-it-yourselfer (DIY), the easy-to-install DuPont Wiper Blades provide tough, long-lasting performance and clean, quiet strokes, according to the company. In response to the growing number of auto manufacturers equipping their new vehicles with frameless or "beam" style blades, DuPont is offering a new frameless wiper design with Kevlar Tough Performance. The wiper features a pre-curved shape that applies strong, even pressure across the windshield for streak-free wiping. The blade combines high strength and durability to withstand the most extreme weather conditions.
"The serious and novice DIYers recognize and appreciate that the DuPont and Kevlar brands are synonymous with superior performance," said Lynne Chappel, DuPont consumer product manager. "DuPont Wiper Blades are designed, engineered and tested to the highest industry standards and backed by a toughness guarantee to provide our retailers and their customers’ real value and product satisfaction."
The blades are scheduled for retail sale in North America in the first quarter 2009. Retail prices will be announced after the first of the year to coincide with retail availability.
