BETHESDA, MD — The National Catalog Managers Association (NCMA) board of directors voted to donate $2,500 to the hurricane disaster relief efforts in the Gulf States. The NCMA board discussed the action during its meeting on Sept. 8. The donation was approved by a unanimous vote. It was also decided to funnel the money through AAIA to qualify for the generous matching of donations offered by that association.
“It makes sense to double our $2,500 contribution to $5,000 by coordinating the donation through AAIA,” said Mark Seng, president of the NCMA board of directors.
Further, NCMA is specifying the Aftermarket Foundation as the recipient of the donation and the AAIA matching funds. Monies collected for the Aftermarket Foundation will be designated for the employees of aftermarket companies and their families affected by Hurricane Katrina.
“We agreed on the importance of doing something as an organization to assist the many automotive aftermarket families of the region effected by this tragedy,” added Seng. “Our association is proud to join with AAIA in helping this worthy cause.”
Founded in 1973, the National Catalog Managers Association consists of more than 200 member representatives from automotive companies across the United States and Canada.
