National Performance Warehouse Companies (NPW) has announced that its 29th annual golf tournament will be played at Shula’s Golf Club in Miami Lakes on the well-known Senator’s Course on Sunday, Dec. 9.
Golf professional Erik Compton, a Miami native with several PGA Tour wins, will be among the players. Compton also was runner-up at the US Open in 2014. In addition, he will host a clinic for the players before the start of the event.
Compton has a unique story on his way to his PGA prowess. Having two heart transplants during his life, he has shown and is recognized for his courage and perseverance and was given the PGA TOUR Courage Award in 2013. He is an advocate for organ donation and has established his own foundation to foster support.
Larry Pacey, president and CEO of NPW, himself an avid golfer, had these comments about Compton being part of the day: “We enjoy bringing our customers and suppliers together for a relaxing day away from the job. We all work hard all year and this event allows us a chance to thank those that support our company and suppliers. Giving back is important to us so a portion of the proceeds go to a worthy charity and this year we chose ‘The First Tee Miami.’ With PGA Pro Eric Compton giving a clinic right before tee off, everyone should shoot lower scores too. Thanks to all our sponsors for their help in making this a success.”
