WASHINGTON, DC — The National Glass Association (NGA) has added its support to the “Be Car Care Aware” consumer education campaign.

Founded in 1948, NGA is the largest trade association representing the entire flat glass industry. Based outside Washington, DC, NGA offers certification, education and training, and serves the industry with the leading trade publications — Glass Magazine, Window & Door, and AutoGlass. NGA currently hosts GlassBuild America: The Glass, Window & Door Expo and the National Auto Glass Conference & EXPO.

NGA is taking steps to educate and involve its member owners and managers of automotive glass repair and replacement service businesses about the Be Car Care Aware campaign, according to Philip James, NGA president and CEO.

“The NGA’s Coalition for Auto Glass Safety & Public Awareness is already working to build consumer understanding of the windshield’s role in personal safety and structural integrity of the vehicle. The NGA believes all of society benefits when consumers have the reliable, factual information they need to make informed decisions on when and how to replace damaged auto equipment, including windshields,” said James. “Such information can make a difference in the lives of our customers. The NGA is proud to endorse the “Be Car Care Aware” consumer education campaign and to participate in National Car Care Month” in April.
