NAPA Introduces New Replacement Air Filtration System

NAPA has introduced Power Solution with PowerTrap technology, a replacement air filtration system manufactured for the 6.0L diesel engine in Ford F-series heavy-duty pickups and select Ford Excursion models.

ATLANTA — NAPA has introduced Power Solution with PowerTrap technology, a replacement air filtration system manufactured for the 6.0L diesel engine in Ford F-series heavy-duty pickups and select Ford Excursion models.

“NAPA’s Power Solution system provides better air filtration for the Ford 6.0L diesel engine than other aftermarket filters or even original equipment,” said Paul Bandoly, brand manager for NAPA Filters. “This system utilizes proprietary PowerTrap filtration that strikes a balance between high efficiency and low restriction, keeping dirt, dust and contaminants out of the engine while assuring that clean air flows steadily to vital engine components.”

NAPA’s Power Solution air filtration system includes PowerTrap air filters with a specially designed pleating pattern that is less restrictive in harsh conditions and performs better in high humidity than other filters for the 6.0L diesel engine.

The replacement housing is manufactured by Visteon Corp., which also makes the OE housing for the Ford 6.0L diesel engine. Together, the Power Solution housing and filter significantly reduce blockage of airflow to the engine caused by snow and water ingestion.

“NAPA PowerTrap filters have 43 percent greater capacity than other replacement filters for the Ford heavy-duty 6.0L diesel and cost about one-third less than replacing old filters with the manufacturer’s OE,” said Bandoly.

The complete filter and housing replacement kit, NAPA Power Solution part number (4490), includes one upper and one lower housing, one four-inch PowerTrap air filter and an air inlet duct. Also available separately is the four-inch PowerTrap replacement air filter, part number (9490).
