Modern Sales Co-op Selects GCommerce for EDI

Canadian co-operative will work with GCommerce to automate the procurement process between members and vendors.

DES MOINES, Iowa – GCommerce has announced a new agreement with Modern Sales Co-op (MSC) to help the group automate the procurement process between its members and vendors.

MSC is a Canadian co-operative with more than 300 member locations from coast to coast and more than 300 vendors from around the globe. Members purchase product both from the MSC warehouses and directly from vendors, while the vendor invoices are sent centrally to MSC for payment, as one of many value-added services to both members and vendors.

Electronic document Interchange (EDI) via GCommerce will automate the purchase order to invoice process by eliminating manual processes such as faxes, phone calls and paper invoices, which will save time and money for all involved, says GCommerce. The real-time EDI process via GCommerce also serves as the foundation for automating the Special/Drop-Ship Order process through the Virtual Inventory Cloud (VIC) at a later date.
