Mobil 1 Introduces Hybrid Full Synthetic Motor Oil

New Mobil 1 Hybrid 0W-20 motor oil is designed to keep hybrid engines running like new.

With projections for hybrid vehicle sales and adoption continuing to trend upward, Mobil 1 has announced its newest full-synthetic, low-viscosity motor oil, specially formulated for hybrid engines. Developed with its signature Triple Action Formula, Mobil 1 Hybrid 0W-20 advanced full synthetic motor oil is designed for today’s hybrid engines and delivers performance, protection, and cleanliness benefits for hybrid vehicles.

According to Mobil1, product benefits include:

  • Guaranteed protection for 15,000 miles between oil changes
  • 10% improved emission system protection
  • Engineered to help enhance fuel economy
  • Extra additives to help fight damage from contaminants

Mobil 1’s latest motor oil formulation is specifically engineered to support hybrid engines as they operate differently than traditional, non-hybrid, internal combustion engines.

In hybrid vehicles, power shifts between the engine and the battery meaning hybrid engines generally run at lower operating temperatures. This can allow for the buildup of harmful contaminants, like fuel and water, to accumulate in your engine which can lead to rust and corrosion. As a result, Mobil 1 Hybrid Advanced Full Synthetic Motor Oil has a special additive designed to help keep water and additional contaminants away from critical engine parts.

This new formulation will continue to let drivers of hybrid vehicles get more out of their drive with distinct benefits and an extra layer of protection, so that they can have added peace of mind and enjoy their time on the road.

“We collaborate with the world’s leading automakers on advanced engine technologies and recognize that hybrid engines have distinct needs. That’s why we set out to develop a new oil formulation specially for hybrid vehicles,” said Bryce Huschka, consumer marketing and growth manager, on behalf of Mobil 1. “We’re excited to introduce Mobil 1 Hybrid Oil with unique benefits to ensure our drivers can feel confident that their engines are protected, get more out of their vehicles, and continue to celebrate their love of driving.”

To further explain the differences between hybrid and traditional internal combustion engines, Mobil 1 teamed up with Jason Fenske, YouTube personality and founder of Engineering Explained, to create custom video and Instagram content. This content will elaborate on how drivers can benefit from using an oil specifically designed for their hybrid engine. Keep an eye out for this content coming soon to Engineering Explained.
