Mid America Motorworks Hires New Director of Communications and Events

Todd Silvey brings to the company an enthusiasm for vehicles along with his background in communications and publications. Silvey created Drag News Magazine and spent more than 20 years in the motorsport magazine/event business. He developed a 14-event national racing series and an annual trade show welcoming 500 vendors. His work has been recognized by the International Hot Rod Association, National Hot Rod Association, United Drag Racer's Association and the Motorsports Media Press Association.

EFFINGHAM, Ill. – Mid America Motorworks, marketer and manufacturer of aftermarket Corvette and air-cooled Volkswagen parts and accessories, recently announced the addition of Todd Silvey as director of communications and events.

Silvey brings to the company an enthusiasm for vehicles along with his background in communications and publications. Silvey created Drag News Magazine and spent more than 20 years in the motorsport magazine/event business. He developed a 14-event national racing series and an annual trade show welcoming 500 vendors. His work has been recognized by the International Hot Rod Association, National Hot Rod Association, United Drag Racer’s Association and the Motorsports Media Press Association.

Prior to joining Mid America Motorworks, Silvey was the director of publications for the Illinois Association of Park Districts. In this capacity, he managed the association’s trade publication and worked with a number of annual education and trade conferences related to parks issues and state of Illinois legislature.

His experience and level of involvement in the automotive hobby world will be an asset as we move forward with the event side of our business," said Mike Yager, who calls himself “Chief Cheerleader” at Mid America Motorworks.

As part of his hot rod passion, Silvey has been involved with a number of organizations. He has campaigned a number of race cars over the years and currently races a 555 cubic inch Chevrolet powered dragster. He also has a pair of highly modified 1970 Chevrolet trucks.
