Michelin Announces National Check Your Wipers Day

The "holiday" will be officially announced/registered by the National Day Calendar on Nov. 16.

Leading up to holiday travel, Michelin Wiper Blades will introduce National Check Your Wipers Day, on Nov. 16, in partnership with the National Day Calendar, to remind drivers to regularly check their windshield wipers, to ensure optimum visibility in the event of inclement weather on the road. According to the U.S. Department of Transportation, 24% of all accidents are weather-related.  As many Americans plan to hit the road, it’s important to remind them to proactively check their wipers. Visibility is an important factor in driving in poor weather conditions. It is recommended that wiper blades should be changed every six to 12 months, depending on location of residence and how often the vehicle is driven.

The experts at Michelin can offer tips on the following:

  • How to check your wiper blades
  • What to look for when inspecting wiper blades
  • Top four signs that it’s time to change your wiper blades
