PLYMOUTH, MI — Metaldyne has opened a new 27,000-square-foot technical center in Plymouth, Mich., which will be dedicated to the company’s chassis group. The facility will house chassis group personnel including finance, human resources, product engineering, program management, quality and testing.
The new technical center will allow the chassis group to significantly expand its design and development capabilities by adding new testing equipment and increasing floor space, said the company. A 13,000-square-foot test lab will serve as the design and development center for products such as chassis suspension components, wheel-end assemblies, ball joints and control arms.
“With the added floor space and new testing equipment this facility brings to Metaldyne we can add more value to our customers’ chassis and suspension programs,” said Joe Nowak, chassis group president. “We are now able to offer more design and development capabilities.”
The new building is located in the same office park as the company’s corporate headquarters, group operations and technical center.
