MEMA, The Vehicle Suppliers Association, announced Elizabeth Goad, executive director of events and meetings, has earned her Certification in Exhibition Management (CEM) designation. First created in 1975, the distinction was developed to raise professional standards in the event industry and is a premier mark of professional achievement.
To earn her CEM, Elizabeth completed nine courses and exams over the course of three years on topics relevant to current trends and operations of the exhibition management industry.
MEMA says Goad’s role is to oversee nearly 300 in-person and virtual events each year, including MEMA’s co-ownership of AAPEX, a Trade Show Executive’s Gold 100 Award winning trade show, which historically has boasted 5,450 booths, 33 pavilions, and 49,000 attendees from over 110 countries.
“Elizabeth’s commitment to ongoing education and professional development is reflected in the superior level of quality members find in MEMA’s events. The hard work that Elizbeth has put in to achieve the CEM designation also serves as an example of living MEMA’s core values: member-centric, mission-driven, and seeking excellence,” said Bill Long, CEO, MEMA, The Vehicle Suppliers Association. “We are proud of Elizabeth and congratulate her on her hard work on this accomplishment.”
