MEMA to Give Away Trip to Daytona 500 as Finale to 100-Year Anniversary

As a grand finale to the yearlong celebration of its 100-year anniversary and to say thanks to the product manufacturers who have made it possible, the Motor & Equipment Manufacturers Association (MEMA) announced today that it will be giving away a trip for two to the 2005 Daytona 500 - the 47th annual “Great American Race.”

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC — As a grand finale to the yearlong celebration of its 100-year anniversary and to say thanks to the product manufacturers who have made it possible, the Motor & Equipment Manufacturers Association (MEMA) announced today that it will be giving away a trip for two to the 2005 Daytona 500 – the 47th annual “Great American Race.”

Airfare and accommodations are included in this prize, donated by MEMA member ACDelco. The season opener to the 2005 NASCAR Nextel Cup Series season will feature the best stock car drivers in the world battling for NASCAR’s most coveted win.

The entry form to attend NASCAR’s richest and most prestigious race is online at the MEMA Web site, www.mema.org. Attendees at the Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo (AAPEX) — set for Nov. 2-5 in Las Vegas — can enter the contest by coming by MEMA’s Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association’s booth, Sands #2861. The winner will be announced Monday, Nov. 15.

MEMA has celebrated its anniversary in numerous ways this year, including the development of a special commemorative issue of its official magazine, Focus; the creation of a supplier industry image video; a custom print that looks back on the past 100 years of automobiles; and the first-ever joint meeting of the boards of directors from MEMA and its market segment associations.
