MEMA Hosts Roundtable with U.S. Treasury Officials

The supplier roundtable was held at MEMA member company, ZF, at its plant located in Fowlerville, MI.

MEMA was joined by senior officials from the U.S. Department of Treasury for a supplier roundtable. The event was held at MEMA member company, ZF, at its plant located in Fowlerville, MI.

Several other MEMA member companies attended the roundtable including Denso Corporation, Detroit Manufacturing Systems (DMS), Eaton Corporation, Aptiv, MAHLE, Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems, Arconic, BASF, ZF, and Forvia. Representatives from each company met with Treasury officials Laurel Blatchford and Rachel McCleery, who shared their insight on the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA).

MEMA said the discussion focused on topics like clean energy space, planned adjustments or growth within the clean energy sector, and the IRA initiatives of greatest interest to member companies.

MEMA’s Ana Meuwissen, senior vice president, government affairs, stated, “We were honored to host this roundtable with the U.S. Department of the Treasury. The event underscored our commitment to fostering meaningful conversations between our members and key policymakers. The productive discussion will help drive forward the goals of the Inflation Reduction Act. We appreciate the efforts the U.S. Department of the Treasury is making to advance innovation within the supplier industry.”

MEMA added that Blatchford and McCleery expressed a strong interest in learning more about the industry and the participating companies.
