MAHLE Invests In Service Solutions Center

MAHLE lays the foundation for a production, research and development center for workshop equipment in Parma, Italy.

Groundbreaking in Parma

MAHLE is responding to significant market interest for MAHLE Solutions workshop equipment by laying the cornerstone for the construction of a new Service Solutions center in Parma, Italy. The three locations of MAHLE Service Solutions will now be brought together under one roof, across an area of 15,000 square meters (roughly 16,100 square feet). In the future, the location will develop and produce equipment for the maintenance of air conditioning systems and transmissions as well as diagnostic tools and equipment for the calibration of driver assistance systems.

The official groundbreaking ceremony took place on March 1 in the presence of representatives from politics and business. The new location will include areas for research and development, production and logistics, as well as training rooms and a workshop area for vehicle testing. The research and development activities in Parma will form the basis for new global product platforms and a variety of workshop solutions. MAHLE is set to move into the new location in the first quarter of 2020.

“The start of construction on this site is an important milestone for us and will allow us to continue offering first-class workshop solutions that give our customers a real competitive advantage,” said Olaf Henning, corporate executive vice president and general manager, MAHLE Aftermarket.
