MAHLE Clevite Introduces New Online Bearing Distress Guide

This guide includes a multitude of distress and failure symptoms and multiple images for each one to assist the user in diagnosing the problem correctly.

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – MAHLE Clevite has introduced a new online Bearing Distress Guide, now available at www.mahleclevite.com. This new guide serves as a tool to identify and diagnose failed engine bearings as well as to help identify engine bearing symptoms of distress. The MAHLE Clevite Online Bearing Distress Guide offers multiple high-quality images for many symptoms, and is free to the user.

This guide includes a multitude of distress and failure symptoms and multiple images for each one to assist the user in diagnosing the problem correctly. For each symptom listed, MAHLE Clevite has included appearance images as well as possible causes and the recommended corrective action.

“Bearing failure guides have existed in print form for many years, but were costly to distribute. Often, the picture quality was mediocre, which could make it difficult for the user to determine if the bearing in hand matched the picture correctly,” said Bill McKnight, team leader – Training for MAHLE Clevite Inc. “The online guide offers higher image quality, and also allows for more frequent updates than the printed guide.”

The MAHLE Clevite Online Bearing Distress Guide is a new addition to a growing list of online product support, which currently includes eLearning classes offered on all products and a 24/7 technical help resource – Ask MAHLE Clevite. This Bearing Distress Guide will be continually updated to provide the most current engine bearing diagnostic information, as part of the on-going effort by MAHLE Clevite to provide the best product support in the industry.
