MACS Hosts 2017 Training Event And Trade Show, Announces Winners Of New Product Showcase

MACS also honored outstanding members, both veteran and up-and-coming, by naming four new Mobile A/C Industry Pioneers and three new Mobile A/C Young Ambassadors.

The Best Use of Technology new product was the Fox from Globus Sistemas Electronicas

The MACS 2017 Training Event and Trade Show in Anaheim, California, was attended by 950 participants who enjoyed training, social events and commerce.

“MACS had not been to California in many years for an annual training event and we were very pleased with attendance, which included many new faces from the West Coast,” said Elvis Hoffpauir, MACS president and chief operating officer.

MACS honored outstanding members, both veteran and up-and-coming, by naming four new Mobile A/C Industry Pioneers and three new Mobile A/C Young Ambassadors. Honored with the Pioneer award were Jim Hittman of Badger Refrigeration, Eau Claire, Wisconsin; Marc McDermott of MEI Corp., Atlanta; John Miller of The Air Shop, Santa Ana, California; and Dan Spurgeon of CAT, Mossville, Illinois. These Pioneers were honored for a lifetime of industry achievements.

Honored with the MACS Young Ambassador Award were Jesse Azqueta of TSI Supercool, Lake Worth, Florida; Melanie Gann of Four Seasons, Lewisville, Texas; and Tim Iezzi of Iezzi’s Auto Service, Reading, Pennsylvania. The association says these three MACS members go above and beyond to promote MACS in the mobile A/C industry.

At the MACS 2017 Trade Show, the new product showcase produced winners in three categories. A panel of industry press judged the new products displayed in three categories: Best Use of Technology, Most Service Friendly and Most Innovative new product.

Recognized as the Best Use of Technology new product was the Fox from Globus Sistemas Electronicas, LTDA. The Fox is an air conditioning and transport refrigeration electronic controller panel, presenting OLED graphic display, silicone membrane keyboard, with smart lighting function. It is equipped with One Wire and CAN communication, allowing remote I/OS and bluetooth connectivity.

Honored as the Most Service Friendly new product was the Custom A/C Repair Hose Tube Assembly from Parker-Hannifin. Parker’s 285 hose was designed specifically for the rigorous air conditioning requirements of automotive, mobile, bus and transit applications. This air conditioning hose has long service life, resists moisture ingression and minimizes refrigerant permeation due to a nylon barrier. In addition, Parker offers male and female end tube connections with or without a pilot as well as their 26 series for hose connections giving technicians the ability to make custom hose tube assemblies.

Chosen for the Most Innovative is Gates Steel Tube Turbocharger Hose Solution Kit. The solution kit is for 2003-’07 6.0 L Ford Super Duty Pickups (F250, F350, F450 & F550), as well as 2003-’05 Ford Excursions, and it provides direct replacement, ensuring exact fit and ease in installation. Each kit comes with oil-resistant lined hoses, clamps and a corrosion-resistant steel tube for the intercooler to engine application.
