Lumileds LLC, a Royal Philips company, has announced the retirement of Dennis Samfilippo, regional vice president and general manager, Lumileds Automotive Group NA. Samfilippo joined Philips in 2010 and has successfully led the division’s growth to become one of the largest and most respected light source suppliers to the NAFTA automotive OE/Tier1 and independent aftermarket market segments. Samfilippo will begin his retirement transition on April 1, and will serve in an advisory role until his official retirement date of May 31. A successor will be named prior to his departure.

Prior to joining the Philips team, Samfilippo held key executive and management roles at several leading automotive and industrial manufacturing companies. He was the global business unit manager, OE Service/IAM and Specialty Markets for Delphi Steering in Saginaw, Michigan. He was the CEO of Inalfa Sunroofs, a manufacturer of automotive sunroofs, which he sold to synergy investors after a successful turnaround. He also was vice president of the Americas – Service and Parts Division for Wartsila Diesel, a Finnish marine and power plant engine manufacturer.
Samfilippo holds a Master of Science in management from Nazareth College and Bachelor of Science in information systems from Davenport University. He also earned a certification in Sigma Six Black Belt Training.
