CHICAGO — LKQ Corp. has acquired Albert Lea Auto Salvage, Inc., a privately held company that operates a recycled OEM automotive replacement parts facility. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
LKQ is the largest nationwide provider of recycled OEM automotive replacement parts and related services, with 41 sales and processing facilities, four self-service retail automotive parts facilities and 11 redistribution centers in the U. S.
Located south of Minneapolis in Albert Lea, Minn., Albert Lea Auto Salvage will service the greater Minneapolis and St. Paul area, and provide a strategic link within LKQ’s network of facilities.
“Once fully incorporated into our network, this investment is expected to enhance our ability to further penetrate the Minnesota market,” said Joe Holsten, LKQ’s president and CEO. “The trailing annual revenue of this business is approximately $5 million.”
