HOUSTON Jiffy Lube, one of the nation’s top fast lube franchises, has been recognized for its Jiffy Lube University (JLU) training program and its commitment to employee training and development.
According to Jiffy Lube, it is currently the only quick-lube training program to earn the distinction as an Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Training Provider. And now, Jiffy Lube has received recognition from both the American Council on Education (ACE) and the American Society for Training & Development (ASTD).
The ACE evaluation identified JLU as a nationally recognized training program worthy of college credit placing Jiffy Lube among the ranks of Starbucks and McDonald’s as the only franchise organizations to achieve this honor. Jiffy Lube service center employees can receive up to seven hours of college credit for completing various courses, including technical and management training.
At the end of 2011, Jiffy Lube International, along with Shell Oil Co., also won the first place ranking in the American Society for Training & Development’s (ASTD) BEST Awards. The ASTD BEST Awards is the training industry’s most rigorous and coveted recognition, acknowledging global organizations that demonstrate enterprise-wide success through employee learning and development. The award recognizes that both Jiffy Lube and Shell have excelled in creating an innovative and vibrant learning culture.
"We are honored to receive these recognitions for our comprehensive training curriculum," said Stu Crum, president of Jiffy Lube International. "Our nearly 2,000 locations remain committed to employing knowledgeable, highly qualified technicians who provide excellent service to every customer. I am confident our efforts will continue to set us apart from the industry."
A mandatory program for all service center employees, Jiffy Lube University combines state-of-the-art computer-based instruction, supervised on-the-job training and proficiency testing to ensure Jiffy Lube technicians are equipped with the skills to provide quality service to customers and their vehicles. All training is tracked on the JLU learning management system where more than 1 million hours of training are recorded each year.
