Jasper Engines & Transmissions Partners With Family Service Day

The award-winning Family Service Day cause marketing program provides independent automotive repair shops with the tools to “do well by doing good.”

JASPER - LogoFamily Service Day Ltd., an award-winning organization with a mission to help independent automotive businesses “do well by doing good,” has announced a new partnership with Jasper Engines & Transmissions (JASPER), a remanufacturer of a diverse line of drivetrain components located in Jasper, Indiana. Family Service Day – Keeping Cars Kickin’ is a national program designed to help automotive businesses share their expertise and give back to their communities.

“Family Service Day is aligned with our mission of developing strong bonds and relationships among our associates, customers and communities,” said Zach Bawel, JASPER president and chief operating officer. “We’re excited to sponsor this successful community-focused marketing program to our installers to help grow their businesses and reputations.”

Founded in 2009 by shop owner Charlie Marcotte, Family Service Day provides member shops with a step-by-step blueprint, coaching and online resources that makes it easy for shops to create unique, meaningful Keeping Cars Kickin’ events to grow their business through giving back. Marcotte said, “By sharing our talents as automotive technicians with local families that need a ‘hand up,’ we help independent automotive repair shops make a direct impact on their communities and attract ongoing positive attention for their efforts.”

Since 2009, Family Service Day – Keeping Cars Kickin’ has grown from a single-shop grass roots effort to a national cause marketing initiative available to automotive repair shops in all 50 states. On the company’s first national day of service on Nov. 7, 2015, shops in 14 states held Family Service Day events. Shop owners and employees across the country provided necessary preventative maintenance and car-care education at no charge to local families who needed help caring for their vehicles. Families were pre-selected and referred by local and national non-profit partners. Local businesses pitched in by sponsoring the events and providing in-kind donations to make the day a fun-filled event for the children and their families.

“Involvement from our industry partners is critical in making our Keeping Cars Kickin’ program a successful community-level marketing solution that spotlights participating independent repair shops across America,” said Marcotte. “It is a privilege to work with Jasper Engines & Transmissions, a company that is dedicated to preserving resources and giving back to the community.”

As part of Family Service Day’s new Member Rewards, JASPER will allow qualifying shops to use available co-op advertising funds to cover up to 50 percent of the annual Family Service Day membership fee. In addition, every shop that holds an event in the first year of membership will receive a $200 voucher toward the purchase of a JASPER remanufactured gas or diesel engine, transmission, differential or transfer case.

In addition to individual shop events held throughout the year, preparations for the company’s next national day of service on Saturday Oct. 15 are underway. Shops interested in becoming Family Service Day service providers should email [email protected] with ‘Keeping Cars Kickin’ as the subject line.
