STAMFORD, Conn. — Humbert Powell, a managing director at Sanders Morris Harris investment banking firm, has been elected to the Green Earth Technologies Board of Directors. Powell will serve on the company’s audit/compliance committee.
Powell serves as a senior member of the Equity Capital Markets and Investment Banking Divisions of Sanders Morris Harris, which during the course of the last four years has raised more than $2.8 billion for more than 30 oil, gas and energy-related transactions. Before joining SMH Capital in 1996, Powell was the chairman at Marleau, Lemire USA and vice chairman of Marleau, Lemire Securities Inc. He also served as a senior managing director in the Corporate Finance Department of Bear Stearns & Co., with domestic and international responsibilities for the investment banking effort. Previously, he was a senior vice president and director of E.F. Hutton & Co., where he was employed in various capacities for 18 years. Powell also sits on the board of trustees at Salem-Teikyo University, and previously served on the boards of Lottery Dynamics, Alliance Distribution, World Water Corp., Endeavor International Corp. and Green Holdings Inc.
