DANBURY, Conn. The cataloging team at Honeywell Consumer Products Group (CPG) and Honeywell Friction Materials has made several improvements to their FRAM, Autolite and Bendix website e-catalogs.
The biggest change is that the catalogs for each brand will run independently, with the exception of a link on the web-based versions that enable users to toggle between the brands. For customers utilizing the brands’ CD catalogs, there will now be two: one for Bendix products and one for FRAM and Autolite products, though searches can be done for one brand at a time.
“This is great news for our customers since they no longer have to sort through unwanted data if they only need parts information for just one brand. Searches will instantly become more manageable and less time consuming,” said Jeffery Chalfin, Honeywell Catalog & Claims team leader. “Plus, the monthly CD updates will be easier to install since FRAM, Autolite and Bendix will be processed independently from each other. That way, if a distributor doesn’t utilize all three brands on CD catalogs, they will still be able to apply the updates for the product they have installed on their computer system.”
Other enhancements being made to both the CD and web versions of the FRAM, Autolite and Bendix e-catalogs include:
1. A more comprehensive cross reference feature. Users are already able to enter multiple competitor part numbers at one time by inserting a comma between each part number, but they will now have the ability to look up partial part numbers by using a wildcard key.
2. A quick part lookup that enables users to view a list of vehicle applications a particular filter, spark plug or brake product part number is intended for.
3. Changes to the application lookup functionality Users will now have the ability to choose which part types they are interested in retrieving more information on before deciding a vehicle’s year, make and model. They’ll even be able to view the parts for the next or previous year without having to reselect make, model and engine type.
“All of these changes were made based on feedback and input we received from our customers,” said Chalfin. “We wanted to simplify part searches as much as possible by separating each brand into their own catalog and by adding some enhanced features that will help users quickly find what they are looking for.”
To access the web-based catalogs, users can visit www.bendixbrakes.com, www.autolite.com and www.fram.com and click on the iParts or Parts Catalog link. Each site’s data is updated monthly and lists part information for passenger cars and light duty trucks from model year 1936-2009. All three catalogs feature application-specific information, installation details, product descriptions and images. For customers who prefer the CD catalog, new versions were available as of Jan. 1. Distributors should contact their respective Honeywell CPG sales representative for more information.
