TROY, MI — Honeywell Friction Materials, which manufactures Bendix branded brake products, was recently recognized with the Automotive Parts Association’s (APA) Branded Products Award.
The award was presented to Honeywell at the association’s 24th annual Shareholders & Manufacturers Conference held at the Wyndham Emerald Plaza in San Diego last month.
The Branded Products Award — one of only four awards presented at the conference — is given to a vendor that APA members believe differentiates itself from competitors in the areas of product development, marketing and brand awareness. Members also vote based on quality and pricing, as well as program, promotion and sales support.
“The Bendix brand name is a beacon in the automotive industry,” said Dan Freeman, president and CEO of APA. “Its name has history and longevity and continuously drives sales for our shareholders and their customers.”
The award – an engraved Waterford crystal vase – was accepted by Jim Kelley, director of business development, WD and Key Accounts, Honeywell Friction Materials.
“We are extremely honored to have received this recognition,” said Rob Gillette, president and CEO of Honeywell Transportation Systems – the business unit that encompasses the friction division. “APA is one of the largest member-owned cooperatives and we value their business and support.”
APA Professionals’ Choice Auto Parts program group represents more than 100 independent auto parts distributors. Its member distribution centers offer a wide assortment of national brand product lines as well as a substantial line of Professionals’ Choice products.
